Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Yes, yes!  Another sign of spring, a baseball game.  From Little League to high school ball I love sitting outside watching the way these kids/young men play.  Little League is the best, they play their hearts out with determination that shows in their faces.  At an early age they develop the stance and quirks of their favorite Major League player.  Sometimes it is miserably cold and even rain in our neck of the woods but what the heck, bundle up and enjoy the game.  If you are from Shinglehouse you know we are a dedicated bunch to the game of baseball.  There is just something about being in the fresh air, listening to the crack of the bat and hoping that baby flies over the fence and into the park.  We have seen a few and it get's the "ahhhh factor" from spectators or when a player makes a "once in a life time" play, now that's exciting.  Many men have come back to town just to stand at the field and remember their "Glory Days".  So if you like baseball take a break, get to the Little League or Oswayo Valley High School field and enjoy the upcoming games.  A  hot dog and a ball game, it's the American way.

For now it is window cleaning for me.  Hopefully the outside and the two windows that are close to infinity height will be hired out this season.  We are not fond of high places and working off a ladder.  A friend just told me about Eagle Window Cleaners and their very reasonable prices.  Yeah!  Dick uses RainX on our car windows once a year and it is wonderful in a rain storm.  Also the dirt, bugs and grime come off much easier.  My thought........use it on house windows!  Gonna give it a try and will let ya know how it works.   Especially on the end of the house that gets the most rain, wind and dust from the dirt road.  Lucky we live at the end of the black top and don't have to drive on the dirt road.

If you have a magic window cleaner that works let me know.  At this time I am using white vinegar and a couple drops of dawn mixed with water.  I use newspapers to clean and dry with.  Dick's mom was the best at streak less windows and she used newspapers.  So far they work better than paper towels for me.  Of course you know clean your windows and the next day it rains but I love lots of windows and looking at our beautiful Cook'n by the Creek view.

By the way creek or crick, what do you say?      Of course I googled it and here are a couple comments on the matter (it doesn't matter to me at my age the feisty is going and the little matters don't much matter any more). lol
I have a feeling it is like the old song, "You say potato and I say potahto, etc.

If you have to jump across it, it's a "crick".
If you have to wade across it, it's a "creek".
If you need a boat or swim to cross it, it's a "river".

North of Rt 66 says creek, south of Rt 66 says crick.  Then someone said you have it wrong it's the opposite.

The man's breakfast.  Buttermilk/blueberry pancakes which was a breakfast/lunch. Warmer weather changes meal times or eliminates one now and then.

Not a typical breakfast food but if it's good we will eat it anytime of the day.
The other night we had pork tenderloin with mushrooms the leftovers went into tacos for breakfast the next day.  A little red salsa or green and it's a satisfying meal.  I buy the soft corn tortillas and warm them on a griddle, easier to fill and eat.  They won't burst into a thousand crumbles (exaggeration ;) like the hard shells.  I'm not a fan of floured tortilla shells, too bland for me.
Hey, how about this weather?  Have you noticed the smiles people are toting around?  It makes grocery shopping a whole lot nicer.  Take time to "Pass it On",  a smile that is ;)
